Math Labs promote critical thinking December 22, 2010

Math is about solving problems, but before the problem is solved, it needs to be analyzed. This involves critical thinking skills.

Our Math Labs videos promote the kind of critical thinking skills necessary to solve problems mathematically. In this Math Lab, students are presented a visual technique for expanding binomials. They are then asked to expand on this technique with more complex binomials.

Binomial expansion is an important skills that students should learn to do mentally. This visual technique is a step in that direction.
