Media Resources for Teaching the Slope Formula October 27, 2011

We have a number of resources on our site for teaching and reviewing slope. In this Blog entry we bring them together to make it easier to find them.

Slope Formula


We have  worked-out examples for calculating slope under varying conditions. An example is shown below. Each example shows a worked-out solution, like the one shown here.



To find these tutorials follow these steps:


On the Browse Menu expand the Algebra > Linear Functions and Equations nodes, as shown here.

Click on Slope.

You’ll see a number of assets appear, all related to Slope.

Scroll down until you find the Tutorials.

Starting with Example 1, click on Preview and view the entire set of worked-out examples like a slide show.

Math Solvers

We have a math solver for calculating the slope, given two sets of coordinates. But rather than merely calculating the slope, our solvers go through the solution for finding the slope. This provides an excellent opportunity to review the concept.
